Why won't you let people delete accounts?
-
I would like to delete my account, not simply my blog. WordPress are holding on to information by retaining my email address and previous login details. I would like them to not do that by allowing me to delete my account. If any member of the community can tell me how I can bring this questoin to WordPress rather than the community I’d appreciate it. The problem, in short terms, is that WordPress are not allowing me to unsubscribe.

I have flagged it for staff, but since you can change the email address to a disposable address and change the login details it does not matter in practice.

Thanks, tandava108. That’s great. I reckon that even when the account is changed to a disposable address, the history remains. You’re right, of course, in practice it doesn’t matter. It just bothers me that it’s not an easy option.

WordPress.com accounts are permanent ( more info here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/ ), but you can easily delete your site following the instructions listed here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/If you are trying to unsubscribe from emails sent to you from WordPress.com, go to Email Delivery Settings and click on “Block Emails”:
