Why WordPress don't renew old urls?

Hi! I’d like to know why WordPress.com and other blog providers don’t renew old urls?

In my case, i’d like to create a new blog for my trip and it’s in use. The url is movingfoward.wordpress.com

It’s taken. Ok. The site already exists. But it has only one post since 2008. Should not be cleaned and renewed the url for another use?

    Thanks!

…sure, lets just take URL’s away from people who might not be using them cause we’re too lazy to think of a new one on our own. Fantastic idea. How about this instead:

    1. if you really want a URL not currently in use, send the owner a message. I know communication might seem a little revolutionary, but if the blogger is interested in helping you, they might respond.

    2. register a URL that is unique to you, like the rest of us did.

I’d like to know why WordPress.com and other blog providers don’t renew old urls?

…because any URL I register on WordPress is mine until WordPress disappears, that’s why.

But it has only one post since 2008.

…that’s one more post than yours. Irony.
