Why WordPress Should Accept Payment From Nigeria

    I think its high time WordPress will allow Nigeria user to pay without passing through proxy in other countries.

    Considering the population of Nigeria and the numberof people who now uses wordpress platform, it sound like an unwise decisionkeeping Nigerian outs of the lists of countries that can make payment online.

    Cheking through the lists of countries, it is very disappointing that Nigeria is not on the list of countries from which you can transact with WP and other smaller countries that do not have as much large market value are allow.

    WP should allow us to pay for upgrades through the banks or any of the following:

    http://www.interswitchng.com

    https://www.quickteller.com/

    Infact, almost all the banks allow customers to use one form of online payment now.

    In fact some of the worst cases of spam factories, confidence scams and email scams, etc. are emanating from your country. You need to use a method of payment that comes form outside of your country.

    WordPress.com uses PayPal as their payment processor, and as such, can only accept payment from countries they support: https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/

    As you noted above PayPal have chosen to block payment from your country, so you will not be able to purchase an upgrade here unless you have a source of payment outside of your country.

    In addition to major credit cards Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover, and PayPal https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/ WordPress.com can accept echecks and some debit cards.

    The debit card must have a VISA or Mastercard symbol on it, and should work just like a credit card when selecting the VISA or Mastercard option on the payment form, even though it’s a debit card.
