Why would "likes" appear in strange places?
-
“Likes” disappear and show in the wrong places: They do not show under the posts but somewhere within them (today I had the “like” button IN a picture).
I can only fix this by
– centering full-width-pictures
– writing text under the picturesBoth is not always an option, also I am afraid I do not want to go through my entire blog to fix this in every single instance..
Here is an example post: http://empireoflights.com/2014/04/05/holzwege-v/
I tried to contact you about this before but never got am answer, this time, your help would be highly appreciated: There must be a bug in the programming, please fix it.
Thank you very much.

…aah, if I log out, then quit Firefox, then visit empireoflights.com again but without logging in – then all is well. Beats me.

Hi there,
When I view your site both logged in and logged out, I’m seeing the “Like” buttons at the bottom of your post. Can you take a screenshot and upload it to your Media Library if you’re still having trouble? Instructions for taking a screenshot can be found here:

Hi Jeremy,
thanks for responding! I made a screenshot and uploaded it here: http://empireoflights.com/?attachment_id=7195 – the “Likes” (or part of them) now appear on the far right. That seems to happen quite often.
Thanks for helping here.

Hey Tobias,
That’s very odd. Generally, that happens if you have an unclosed div tag within your post. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case here. Also, I’m not experiencing the same issue on my side as shown here:
http://empireoflights.com/?attachment_id=7199
Can you try the following?
- Disable any add-ons to your browser momentarily and see if that fixes the issue?
- Try a different browser and see if you experience the same thing
- Let me know what posts you’re currently experiencing this on. Perhaps there’s a commonality I’m overlooking.

Hi Jeremy
Thanks for the response. I am sorry it took me a while to get back to this topic. Here is what happened when I followed your advice:
Disabling the add-ons did not make a difference
Neither did using Safari instead of Firefox. I would not know about IE because the version available to me (at work) is very old.
I experience the problem on these posts (among others):
– http://empireoflights.com/2014/07/05/point/
– http://empireoflights.com/2014/07/09/watching-the-game-3/ (Here the “likes” are in the first picture.)
Im am not sure if it helps but here’s how I posted the pictures in the latter case:I bet that centering the pictures would solve the problem (I do not try that now so you can still see where the problem is). But that soluten would only work for the posts where I add full-width pictures. If I go for something like http://empireoflights.com/2014/06/16/watching-the-game-prologue/ – I feel I am still in trouble.
Any ideas? I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Tobias,
I have a few things I would like to try, but let’s start with this. In your post “Wall Variations”, the HTML code for the last image doesn’t seem to include all margin attributes. Currently, it reads like this:
<a href="http://empireoflights.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/qlb-tor.jpg"><img class="alignleft wp-image-6973" style="border-radius:0;box-shadow:none;margin:0 30px 60px 0;" src="http://empireoflights.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/qlb-tor.jpg" alt="QLB-Tor" width="300" height="450" /></a> <a href="http://empireoflights.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/qlb-fachwerk.jpg"><img class="alignleft wp-image-6972" style="border-radius:0;box-shadow:none;margin:0 30px 60px 0;" src="http://empireoflights.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/qlb-fachwerk.jpg" alt="QLB-Fachwerk" width="300" height="450" /></a> <a href="http://empireoflights.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/qlb-blitzableiter.jpg"><img class="alignleft wp-image-6971" style="border-radius:0;box-shadow:none;margin:0 0 60px;" src="http://empireoflights.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/qlb-blitzableiter.jpg" alt="QLB-Blitzableiter" width="300" height="450" /></a>Could you change the margin numbers to match the other two images? Specifically, it should read the following:
margin:0 30px 60px 0Let’s give that a try. Please let me know if it helps to resolve the issue on your side!
