Why would WP use my user name from my email address as part of the web address.

  Why would WP use my user name from my email address as part of the web address.

  I suppose there is a reason for this, but I don’t particularly want my somewhat unique username associated with the blog. Is it just a way to pressure users to purchase a blog domain name?

  Could I have avoided this at signup?

  Is there a way to change it, short of starting over with a new email address?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
