wide display template

I’m trying to switch my page attribute to ‘full width template’ but it’s still displaying as a narrow column in the middle of the screen. Please help!

Hi there,
On your theme, the main column width is up to 1032px wide with the one-column layout. If you check out the demo page, you will notice that the text column (Paragraph Blocks) will not take the whole width of the page, it was not designed to.
It allows you though to add other blocks that would do it, like Image, Cover or Media&Text Blocks. -

OK, so I figured out that by using the layout grid I could put the text in wider blocks on the page, but the margins don’t match if I want to include a media-text block. Is there a way to adjust the left margin of a media-text block when in wide width?

Sure, would you please give us a link to the page showing the problem? We’ll see if we can figure something out for you. :)

Thanks! So, to give some history, this is what I started with. I like the consistent formatting but not that’s it’s narrow down the center (too much scrolling).

So first I tried this – I used the layout grid to make the paragraphs wider. In order to have pictures next to some of the text I used the media-text block, still within the wider layout, but the margins shift all over the place.

Then I tried this – instead of using the media-text option I tried switching between 1-column and 2-column sections of layout grid. The margins finally align, but there are huge gaps between the sections and it doesn’t flow nicely.

Ok, I see what you mean.
The paragraph breaks can actually be decreased with CSS, but that does require a paid Premium or higher plan: https://wordpress.com/support/custom-design/custom-css/

No, that would require modifying how the theme styles the page itself, which would require CSS.
