Widely Theme Showing Posts on Front page and Posts Page
-
Good morning. I am using the Widely Theme. I used Settings –> Reading to configure my homepage (Home) to be a static page. I also used it to configure my Posts page to be “Your Thoughts!”.
As expected, blog entries are being displayed on the posts page (“Your Thoughts!”). However, they are also being displayed on the homepage (“Home”). How can I re-configure so that they are not being displayed on “Home”?
I tried the following:
1. I noticed that posts with specific tags and featured images will be displayed on the Featured Content Slider on the homepage. However, of the 4 posts I have, only 1 has a featured image. Additionally, I am not using a Featured Content Slider.2. In Settings –> Reading, I looked at the “Featured content” section. Since I do not want to use a featured content section, I entered the following:
Tag name – I set this to notags. I do not have a tag named “notags”, so this setting should not apply to any of my posts.
Number of posts – 0. (When I saved my changes, WordPress reset this to 1. I suppose that 0 is not valid here).Thank you for your help and hard work!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi zioncewp,
Widely is designed to display the four latest posts on static front pages. There is no setting to turn it off. However, you can hide it with CSS, if you have the Custom Design upgrade. If you get the upgrade, I’ll be happy to provide the code necessary to hide this section.
2. In Settings –> Reading, I looked at the “Featured content” section. Since I do not want to use a featured content section, I entered the following:
Tag name – I set this to notags. I do not have a tag named “notags”, so this setting should not apply to any of my posts.Just noting that if you don’t want posts in the featured content slider, you can just leave the Tag Name box empty on the Settings > Reading page.
Number of posts – 0. (When I saved my changes, WordPress reset this to 1. I suppose that 0 is not valid here).
This setting refers to the number of posts that appear on the blog page. And you’re right, you must display at least one post. :)
I hope this clarifies things!
