Widen column width, twenty seventeen theme

  • Unknown's avatar

    I’m redesigning my website and would love to use the “Static Page” feature of the Twenty Seventeen theme. But when I put the theme into one column mode, there’s a LOT of white space. There’s more white space on either side of the column of text than there actually is text. Is there any way I can widen the column where the text of the website appears?

    Hi @guessworkvr, this would require custom CSS, which is a feature of the WordPress.com Premium and WordPress.com Business plans.

    If you should decide to upgrade, you would then go to Customize > CSS and enter this.

    @media screen and (min-width: 30em) {
    .page-one-column .panel-content .wrap {
      max-width: 1200px;
    }
    }

    If you do, let me know if you have any problems with that.
