widen hemingway rewrtten theme

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

    I’d like to put a large image on the (static) front page of this site. The image is 1200×300 and I know that the header is a little wider and higher. When I try to insert the image, it shrinks to about 600px wide. Is there any way to edit the CSS to widen the theme w/o messing up its responsive functions?

    Thanks in Advance,

    Toni

  • Hi, Toni.

    If I understand, you mean the image with two pics and the text ‘creative venues…’ in the center.

    There are two things you could change. First the whole .site-content area has 1040px, and your image is inside this area so if you need your pic bigger than this, you should need to change the site-content width… (Take into account that change this value will affect the whole blog)

    .site-content {
        width: 1500px;
    }

    Second, the image itself. You can affect this resize to each image…

    .entry-content img[class*="wp-image"] {
        width: 1200px;
    }

    … or just to the ‘creative venues’ one

    .entry-content img.wp-image-202 {
        width: 1200px;
    }

    I hope this helps you. Enjoy blogging!

  • nospoon4 – are you all set here? Did raulanton’s CSS help you out? (Thanks, raulanton!)

    Yes, it did. Thanks for asking. I thought I marked it as “resolved”, but I guess I didn’t.

  • Great, glad you’re all set. I’ve marked it as resolved, but if you need further help feel free to start a new thread.
