widening page

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m trying to widen my page so my pictures will be bigger when I post them. I am using the Kubrick theme. Here’s my page: http://www.theblogfarewell.com. I don’t have any experience with css, so i’m just fooling around inside and seeing if I can make any progress. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

I don’t think that you can edit page width without accessing the underlying theme files…and we do not have access to those files on WordPress.com.

One option for large pictures is to upload 640×480 or 800×600 size pictures, and then link to the images using the image uploader. When you load the pictures into a post, you can size them to 400 or so, and then, write a blurb about how clicking the picture in the post will yield a larger version. People click on the picture, and the full size opens in their browser.

You can widen the page in CSS but I wouldn’t even begin to mess with Kubrick – check the forums for info. But since you don’t know anything about CSS, I’d suggest that you find another theme with a wider posting area. Check the FAQ on that.
