Widening the central text area

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, folks. New wordpress user here, and I was wondering whether or not it was possible to widen the central text area with the basic page editing tools available freely to me at the moment. I’ve done a bit of research and seen some posts in the past that bring up the CSS upgrade, but I was wondering if there was a way to give my paragraphs some breathing room without that upgrade.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi. To my knowledge, that’s not possible without the Custom Design (CSS) Upgrade

You could consider a different theme perhaps?

It has to be done with CSS and you need the Custom Design Upgrade to do that. Also, 2011 is a “reactive” design (meaning it widens and narrows depending on browser window width) so it can be a little more complex to change widths on.
