Widening the text body/decreasing the margins

  Hello.
  I want to increase the width of the text body on this post page, so less white space at the side. I think the post looks silly on a laptop screen having all the text squashed like that. And also the images in the post are shrunk to fit which isn’t good.
  How can I change this? without choosing another theme if possible.
  I would have thought there would be a simple option for this.

  I’m using the free wordpress website which manages my blog. I do not have the paid for premium service with all the abilities to customise CSS code etc.
