Widening Tiled Mosaic Gallery in Cubic Theme
-
Hi there,
I’m having the same problem described here:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/cubic-theme-widen-gallery?replies=2I’d like to widen the galleries on my individual posts. I have a Premium account and have already tried increasing the width through setting “Media Content Width” to 1200px (default value is 768px) and it doesn’t work.
Any help? Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, we first have to widen the theme itself so that larger images and galleries can be shown. Go to Appearance > Customize > CSS, delete all the informational text in that window, and paste in the following custom CSS to widen the content area on single post pages to 1200px.
.single .entry-author, .single .entry-content, .single .entry-footer { width: 1200px; }One thing I will mention is that for readability, text content should be kept at roughly 500px to about 750px. The numbers are actually a bit more complicated as it depends on font site. We can’t widen the galleries though without widening the text. I worked off your Mission Peak post for the above and limited this change to only single post pages.

Thanks for the help. I used your CSS (changed it to 900px to see how big that would make everything) and it looks like only the width of the text is affected. The gallery is still stuck at its default size. Any other suggestions?

Is the Media Width set at 900 also? If so, make sure and save and then view your actual site. I’ve tested in my test site and a gallery enlarges to fill the new width. It may just be the preview. If you visit your site and it still shows the smaller gallery, force refresh your browser or try narrowing and widening your browser window.
