I had added a text (using html) widget labeled “other bookies”. I deleted the widget from the dashboard but it is still showing on the blog. The widget is not in the dashboard to remove.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We need a link to the blog, and have you tried force refreshing your page? Have you tried clearing your browser cache and then looking again?

Sorry about that. The link is http://booktumbling.wordpress.com and yes I did refresh the page and clear the cache. Thanks for any assistance.

I see “other bookies” just fine right below your blogroll (links) widget.

Log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then take another look.

It could also be an issue with an overloaded invisible proxy server between your computer and wordpress. ISP’s use these to reduce bandwidth to cache pages, and if it isn’t updating or is overloaded, it make take a few hours to a day for it to clear up.

  • The “other bookies” area in your sidebar (directly under the Blogroll) is simply a part of the Links Widget, which is why you do not actually see any widget by this particular title. If you go to Links -> Link Categories, you will notice that you have “other bookies” as a category, and 2 links added to it. You would need to remove these links – or move them to a different link category.

If you are still seeing another widget, however, and I am mistaken, please let us know.
