  I have looked at Appearance -> widget (as expressed in my previous submission) but none of these are suitable. I would like to have a plug-in/widget that will allow me to add the cover of my story as a widget. How can I do this?

  Here is an easy way to do it. Draft a post. Insert a thumbnail photo of the cover of your book. As you insert your photo, link it to your item on amazon. Save your draft. Go to the text tab. Copy what you see there. Go to your widgets. Paste that code into a Text widget. Save your text widget and place it wherever you want it.
