widget containing javascript

  i tried to input a code for a vodpod widget, but it failed to work. i then checked the code in detail to find that it contained javascript. But the type of widget that this code was for can be seen on other blogs such as the one below.

  why can this guy have javascript and i can’t..???

  Javascripts are not allowed. There’s a vodpod widget for use here at wp.com and that’s what they’re using.

  If you look at teh page source, it should say vodpod widget or something simular within the html.

  Yes it’s a vodpod widget -> Presentation -> Widgets
  Drag the vodpod widget out of the Available widgets box
  Drop it into the Sidebar box
  Click on the blue and white icon

  The widget opens and you see this:
  Add your favorite videos from hundreds of sites to your blog with the Vod:Pod widget.
  Enter your the URL of your Pod (or of a pod you like) to feed your widget.
  Pod URL:
  http://.vodpod.com
  Start a Pod if you don’t have one already to collect videos for your blog.
  Leave blank and we’ll show the most popular videos on Vod:Pod.

  Follow the instructions using the link to VodPod that is provided
  Close the widget by clicking on the X
  Click “Save Changes”

  thanx for the replies, may be i didn’t explain myself properly. i know all about the vod pod widget and how to configure it. anyway, problem solved!! thanx to mark @ vodpod.
  what i was asking about was that there is a special way to configure the vodpod without the standard widget already provided and the code for it is in javascript.

  like the bloke on the towelie site, the vodpod widget isn’t the standard type. when i tried to change mine to like his it wouldn’t work. But vodpod have a special code which can be used in order to change it from the standard to the one on the towelie site without using javascript.

  thanx again for speedy responses.

  ps. any way of getting two vodpod widgets on one blog..???

  Both the kind of widgets we do have now and the numbers of them depicted here -> Presentation -> Widgets are all that are currently available for use on our wordpress.com blogs.

  If you would like to suggest another widget of the same kind or a new widget then staff have defined this process for doing so. Send in a feedback on Monday containing all links and specifics and staff will take your suggestion(s) under consideration.
