If is was……. Anti-virus, anti-spam or simply that your browsers have Java blocked … it would not be accross all four browsers and on my other computer.I am willing to let someone else try it (on my widgets)…. just so I know it is not me. :)

I think it is just you, unfortunately. I was able to highlight, cut, paste, and delete in your test widget with no problem at all.
I’m using a Mac running OS X 10.4.10 and Firefox 2.0.0.7. Have you tried using another computer? Since the behavior is the same on all your browsers, it may be something system-wide in your PC (your virus software or something).

Make sure Java and Javascript are enabled in your browser. In FF for Mac it’s under the “Content tab” in Preferences. -

No He’s not the only one with the problem. I now have the same issue with all my text widgets and only text widgets. Cannot highlight or do anything with them.

I’m also unable to highlight the text in a widget box. I was always able to do it before. Have only starting having the problem in the past week. Since it just started happening, I’m thinking something changed in WP especially if others are having a problem. No problems anywhere else except the tex boxes.

There’s no such thing as providing too much information. Staff monitor these threads and it helps them narrow down the problem and address it when we post details. Please post the name of the browser and version of it that you are using. :) -
There is (at least for me, running Windows 98) a serious flaw in the latest version of Firefox which gives a javascript error at random times. That might be related, so when you communicate with staff, do tell them which operating system you’re using.
