Yes, you can’t use embed codes like for a Flash object on a WordPress.COM blog. You can put it on an independently-hosted blog using software from WordPress.ORG.

You have to register a domain name, hire a web host, download, install and configure the software from wordpress.ORG, download and install any plugins and themes you want to use, export all your stuff from here, import it into the new blog.
These support documents covers exporting things from here:

http://support.wordpress.com/blogroll/import-export-links/
http://support.wordpress.com/export/With a self-hosted blog, you will be responsible for all updates, all troubleshooting, all backups – everything. If something goes wrong, you have to figure it out and fix it.
The combined cost for everything on a self-hosted blog (domain name registration and hosting) will typically run you from $7 to about $25 per month, but that depends on your bandwidth and storage requirements. High traffic sites can cost $50 to $250 per month – or more.
Go to http://wordpress.ORG/ and look under “docs” and “hosting” for more information.

Along with the freedom of a self-hosted blog comes the possible headaches such as installing a bad plugin that causes your site to disappear and might even keep you from getting to your dashboard. It also means that if you install code from somewhere else, and it breaks your blog, or creates a security hole someone exploits, your blog could end up infected by a virus or trojan horse. Web hosts take a really dim view of that and if something you install causes their servers to be damaged, you might be monetarily responsible for the the repairs.
NEVER assume that all themes, plugins and code that you find on the internet is safe. There are people out there building stuff that is specifically designed to compromise your site. There are others out there that are simply amateurs at coding and unknowingly create bad code. The results though are the same, a compromised site.
I’m not trying to scare you off, I’m just wanting to make sure you know what you you are getting into. I’ve been self-hosted for nearly 2 years now and I’ve had few problems, but I’m also very careful about any code that I put onto my blog and about any plugins that I use. I also end up getting a lot of “OMG my site is broken and people are dying, Help me!!!” emails.
