Widget exclusions are not showing

  I set the comments widget to exclude two authors fom being visible and this setting has not been applied. Is there CSS coding that will assist me in making this happen?

  Thank you Grace, for getting back to me.

  In the “Recent Comments” widget, there is an option to “Hide, IF.” I put in myself, my site admin and then 404 pages. These adjustments have been made for a week, so I don’t think it’s a page caching issue.

  When I asked for guidance through online chat with the Word Press Help Line, the suggestion was to try CSS. If this is the solution, I would need your assistance in writing CSS.

  In the online help forums, several people say that excluding specific commenters from the widget cannot be done. These comments are a year or two old.

  Please let me know. Thanks!

  PS. you see the “HIDE/IF” only by clicking on the visibility button.

  Hi Jeffrey,

  I believe there is some misunderstanding with the Visibility. When you set it to hide the Author Jeffrey Zablow, 404 pages, etc. you are actually hiding the Recent Widgets on pages where the author is set to Jeffrey Zablow, 404 pages, etc. It would remove the comments within the widget.

  For example you’ll see on this page (the author is set to you) that the Recent Comments widget is not viewable:

  If that isn’t the way to do it, how can we exclude particular authors from showing up in the comments widget?

  Hi Jeffrey,

  Sorry, the only way to exclude authors from appearing in the Recent Comments widget would be to unapprove their comments from appearing entirely.
