Widget fails to appear on home/front page only
-
My right sidebar fails to appear when you click home or on the front page. However it does appear when you click on the actual post. Can you help me correct this. I have checked widgets section, nothing has changed but yet it won’t appear on home page. Thx. BTW I’m using Safari.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are the widgets you want in the right sidebar those widgets at the bottom of the screen?
-
Yes. I have no idea how they got there. I checked my widgets section and I have them set correctly. I haven’t changed a thing. When I click on a post all appears the correct way it goes haywire when you click home on,h.
-
That is so bizarre. I notice you’re using the Comet theme. It might be an error within the theme itself. If that’s the case, I think the coding needs to be changed, which I don’t think users like us can do. :(

Weird is right. It was fine until late Friday and then it went crazy! Do I need to do anything else?

Unfortunately, you’re only allowed to ask WordPress staff for help outside the forum if you pay for an upgrade, or a premium account. Sometimes a chat box pops up and you can type your question in there, but it doesn’t seem to be working right now. Hopefully staff will look at this. If they don’t, changing your theme might be an inconvenience, but it might be the only thing that works.

Hey there! It looks like some formatting in this post is causing the formatting issue you’re seeing:
http://unshelfish.org/2015/04/03/scent-of-triumph-by-jan-moran-w-giveaway/
If you open that post in the HTML editor, put your cursor in the window and click on the button that says “close tags” that should fix your formatting issue.
Let me know if I can help with anything else!

Didn’t work. Why does the divider built into the theme appear in the secondary sidebar area. THIS only happens when at the home page. If you click on different posts and menu it is perfect.
-
Correct. This is being caused by the formatting in the specific post that I linked to. If you open that post, you’ll see that the sidebar is also misaligned there.
You’ll need to go through the HTML editor for that post and find the tag that isn’t closed correctly. There are a couple of ways to do this. You can use an HTML validator like this one:
http://www.freeformatter.com/html-validator.html
Or do it manually using a text editor that highlights code, like Sublime or Atom.io.
Do you copy and paste your content from another editor such as Microsoft Word?
-
Can you tell my why the divider appears in the secondary area? By secondary I am referring to right sidebar? The entire blog is wonky. Why does the secondary sidebar appear on the bottom left and in some areas the posts are full width?
-
This is just too weird. Like I said this is only happening in HOME page and it’s happening if I switch themes too. Ugh!

The formatting on your site is broken because of the formatting in this specific post:

In order to fix it, you’ll need to find the code that is broken and fix it.
