Widget for emailing page?
-
Is there a widget or link that offers the option to “Email this post to a friend?” I checked through old forums and in 2007 the option wasn’t available, but I haven’t been able to find any update. Any and all help is appreciated.

I have been searching the forums too for this very feature. I found the same thing, nothing available back in 2007. Wonder if it is available yet or in the works to be added? Hope to see it availble soon. It’s the best way to get the word out and that is word of mouth. Friends often have the same likes and dislikes and you can end up getting out to target readers whey those that like it send it off to their friends they are much more likely to read it and continue. Of course they send to their friends and it’s exponential growth.
Thanks for asking Olivia, this was my next action too. Someone else asked about 3 weeks ago in January but there was only one reply saying they thought this was one of the most requested features.

This is one of the most basic option and one of the most needed one. Oddly enough, it is not available here.
The blogging world seems to think that e-mail is irrelevant. Well, they’re mistaken.

@olivia,
I can offer a work around.
At the end of each one of my posts, I add the link “Tell a friend, or two, about this post…” . Once clicked, a new message will open in the users email, with a note in the subject line (Check out my blog….) and the link to the post is “pasted” in the body of the email.It is not a widget and does require that you add it yourself.
I suppose you could create an image of your choosing that does the same thing.
But this method has proven very easy for me to do.You must use the permalink title of the post for the link to work.
The permalink title appears in the Edit Post mode, below the title field.
(This it the title of the post that includes the year and date of the post and the title separated by hyphens.)Here is the HTML code that you can use to create the link:
mailto:?subject=[Insert here the message to appear in the email subject line, with each word separated by: %20. No spaces. Do not put the %20 after the last word. No brackets]&body=[insert here the http permalink title of the post – without the brackets]
For example, using the Email wording you quoted at the top of this thread with your Feb10th post about the Big Steak, here’s the email link you’d create:
Step 1: add this bit of text at the end of your post:
Email this post to a friendStep 2: select the above text, create a link with the following:
mailto:?subject=Check%20out%20Olivia’s%20blog!&body=http://oliviatejeda.wordpress.com/2009/02/10/whats-french-for-dang-thats-a-big-steak/Good Luck!
