Widget for link to Good Reads Giveaway?
-
Hi Everybody!
I’m hosting a giveaway of my book on Good Reads (goodreads.com), and it said to just “copy and paste the code onto your website” to link viewers over to the giveaway. It said that your website must support java script. I pasted it into a text box, but the code showed on my blog! I’m not sure how to do this—can anyone help?
The code looked pretty monstruous to me, but I’ll paste it below, in case you need to see it.
Thanks!

You can capture an image of the bookcover and upload it and then use an image widget linked to the page it’s on to display it on your blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/image-widget/

I was trying to do just that – but am now having a hard time with the image widget. The bookcover I have displayed now is with the text widget. I don’t know how to get the URL from my media library; which is it? Every time I try, the pic doesn’t show.

Just use a text widget. You can format it any way you want in the visual editor and then click to the HTML editor, copy all the code, and then paste that into the text widget. This is very useful, particularly if the link itself is complicated and contains ID information, etc.

@profdq in the Media Library, click on the image as though to edit it and you’ll see the link URL there
