Widget Identification

Hi — I saw a blog with a stats widget that showed hits per country since a given date, with the country named & its flag. Colourful & fun! I checked “Blog Stats Widget” but that doesn’t have the flag/country feature. What is the flag-stats widget called? Is it available for Comet theme?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m guessing this is the service you’re looking for: http://www.flagcounter.com/

After initial set-up you’ll be given an HTML code. You can paste that into a Text widget and place it on your sidebar. It will start tracking the visitor data after you place it on your site, so don’t expect to see flags of countries from where visitors have already visited your site. :)

I can help with that. See here for a selection of Free Visitor Tracking Tools http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2014/05/28/free-visitor-tracking-tools/

Thank you, Timethief! I’ve bookmarked that URL and will be acting on it. Very grateful. (New topic: I also hate the beep-boop nonsense, it’s juvenile and disfunctional. Working from “New post” doesn’t solve the problem; once you try to edit your new post, you find yourself in the beep-boop)

Oh, I definitely know how you feel about the Beep Beep Boop new editor. Note the main thread here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/beep-beep-boop-screen-is-a-joke-is-this-a-glitch/page/25?replies=745

    Workarounds:
    To create a new Post:

When you go to the drop-down menu on the left of the grey Admin bar, and you get to NEW, instead of opening up the drop down menu options Page, Post, etc, just click the word New. Gets you straight to the fully featured dashboard editor.

    To Edit a published Post:

Go to Dashboard > Posts > All Posts and go to the particular post, and click Edit. That gives you the full-featured editor.

    Missing Features
We’re considering features like spellcheck, word count, proofread, revisions, and shortlink available in the new editor and if/how they should best be introduced into the new editor.

The next time you select to use the classic editor instead of the new editor, we’ll remember it! From then on you’ll be directed back to the classic view instead, you won’t have to select it every time.

Note, if you end up having to clear your cookies for any reason, you’ll need to opt out of the new editor again.
