widget in header

Hi! How would I get my first widget – my picture – in my header using CSS?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi @gabbytrecipes!

Can you describe where you’d like to try and place that image? When I open your site, the header area is already pretty full, so putting a widget up there would likely mean overlapping other elements :)

  • I think I see a spot for it, if you move the tagline like you asked about in your other thread :)

Try this – it should put the sidebar in the header, on the right – and adjust for different screen sizes. Then it drops the image back down to the sidebar when you get down around tablet sizes screens where there isn’t really room for it any longer.

If you plan to move the image up there, I’d recommend not moving the search bar up there as well – you’ll have a hard time finding space for both unless you make the header taller (it’s already fairly tall) or the image smaller (very small on some screens) to make room :)

hmm.. I think I’d rather have the search bar up there. It’s more important for my readers. but your code for the tagline worked perfectly! Thank yoU!
