WIdget in something other than sidebar?
-
How do I put a widget in something other than a sidebar. The side bar is up at the top over the original menu, and I can’t seem to figure out how to put the widgets somewhere else other than the sidebar on top.
Thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

“By sidebar on top” you could mean menu.
Widgets are for sidebar areas and/or footer areas on sites and it is the theme and how it is designed that determines where you can place them. Not every theme has widgets. Some do not have them at all.
The way your theme is designed to operate and set up instructions for it are found here https://wordpress.com/theme/bushwick
re: switching themes
Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. Note that switching themes https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/#switch-themes can be easily done, provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the site, you go to https://wordpress.com/themes/ and use the feature filters.
We have a preview function. No content is lost when switching themes on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. It does not matter if the site is private or public. Use the customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/
