Widget isn’t connecting

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello!
I’m trying to get a widget in the footer of our website that displays our recent Instagram posts. I have it in the footer but it won’t let me hit the ‘connect instagram’ button. Any way we can get this to connect?

    Thank you!

  • Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out with your question.

Since your site, engagedonmaui.com, is hosted on WordPress.org, this issue falls outside the scope of our usual support. For assistance, you can contact your hosting provider or seek help in the WordPress.org forums.

However, here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue with connecting the Instagram widget in your footer:

    Check Plugin Settings:

      • Ensure that the Instagram widget plugin you are using is correctly installed and activated. Sometimes re-installing the plugin can help resolve connection issues.

      Plugin Permissions:

        • Make sure the plugin has the necessary permissions to connect to your Instagram account. You may need to reauthorize the app in your Instagram account settings.

        Clear Cache:

          • Clear your site’s cache and your browser cache. Cached data might sometimes prevent the connection process from completing.

          Update Plugins and Themes:

            • Ensure that all your plugins and themes are updated to their latest versions. Compatibility issues can sometimes prevent widgets from functioning properly.

            Use a Different Plugin:

              • If the current plugin is not working, you can try using a different Instagram widget plugin. Some popular ones include “Smash Balloon Social Photo Feed” and “Instagram Feed WD”.

              JavaScript Errors:

                • Use your browser’s developer tools (right-click on your site and select “Inspect” > “Console”) to check for any JavaScript errors that might be preventing the connection button from working.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, reaching out to your hosting provider for further assistance is recommended. You can also seek help in the WordPress.org forums.
