  Every time I change themes, the widgets which I worked so hard to create end up on the “Inactive Widgets” section at the bottom. When they are there, there is no way to return them except to drag them all the way up one by one to the sidebar. Dragging the widgets one by one is tiresome because there are so many widgets, and so you end up dragging them so far away each time. Is there a way to make this whole process easier?

  The same goes also for the Inactive Sidebar, by the way

  Each theme has different widget areas. When you switch themes the active widgets are moved to the inactive widgets area if the other theme hasn’t got the same widget area. This way you won’t lose the widgets you had set up. Re-adding the widgets requires you to drag them from the inactive widgets area.
