  Your theme, Book Lite, will not allow sidebar. So you will have to pick another theme if you are particular about sidebar.

  Book Lite is not allowing even footer. So please try to use a different theme that allows sidebars.

  Here are some themes that allow left and right sidebars.

  I just tested with Misty Lake theme and I am able to add Custom Menu and Facebook Like widgets to the sidebar, as you can see in my test blog.

  Please let me know if this is not what you were hoping to do.
