Widget not working
-
I copy and paste this into my Text Widget:
<script type=”text/javascript”> widgetContext = { “url”: “http://www.transitionnetwork.org/sharing/widget_news”, “width”: “230”, “height”: “350”, “widgetid”: “web_widget_iframe_c2c3cae1b0ff7d5b229b3105a0e51de1″ }; </script> <script id=”web_widget_iframe_c2c3cae1b0ff7d5b229b3105a0e51de1″ src=”http://www.transitionnetwork.org/sites/all/modules/web_widgets/iframe/web_widgets_iframe.js”></script>This is as suggested by:
http://www.transitionnetwork.org/syndication-and-social-media#widgetsWhen I click to save it it edits down to :
widgetContext = { “url”: “http://www.transitionnetwork.org/sharing/widget_news”, “width”: “230”, “height”: “350”, “widgetid”: “web_widget_iframe_c2c3cae1b0ff7d5b229b3105a0e51de1” };Which is then all it shows on the web site, the text not the live link.
How can I fix that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
javascript and iframe is not allowed in wordpress.com. See here; http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/ -
Thanks Nando,
I did try to find out why, but not enough means enough for me to translate! And I learned machine code programming in 1971! Gave up when they started making it all too complicated!
-
@Southcoastintransition, you are welcome. I can understand why it’s too complicated for you. The year 1971 is a very long time ago. I wasn’t even born yet.

The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems.
1. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.
How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com?
Do you have third party cookies enabled?2. Operating System Updates and Security Program Issues
Sometimes operating system and/or security system updates can cause problems so check for known issues. When you make adjustments to your browser settings — changing privacy settings, deleting cookies or increasing security, making firewall changes — you will need to close your window and restart the browser before those new settings become effective.
What is your operating systems? Have you had recent updates to it?
Which security program are you suing and have there been recent updates to it? -

hi – thank you so much for responding – i have dragged image – twitter – and text (it shows in the dashboard – but not in the blog itself)
-
Adter you drug them into place did you click each widget to open it, and then click “save” and “close” inside the widgets?
-
Good question rain!
@thehappinessprincess: The Image widget and the Twitter widget won’t show up unless you add an image URL in the first case, your Twitter username in the second case, then Save as timethief says.
-
sounded promising- just tried – thanks -but didn’t work – what a great group of people this is – i so appreciate your efforts in assisting me – i’m not giving up – thank you

Please understand that we need details. What exactly did not work?
Image widget > Did you upload an image and if so did you enter the image URL into the widget and click “save” and then “close” or not?
Instructions here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/image-widget/Twitter widget > did you enter your twitter URL into the Twitter widget or not?
