widget of text with scroll bars
-
Hello,
I need help.
And ‘from this morning that I’m fiddling with the HTML codes to no avail.
I want to insert a widget of text with scroll bars as what is included in the sidebar (bottom right) to this site: http://www.senzacredercitroppo.wordpress.com
told me to look between “shortcodes”. I tried to no avail. I tried it with tables, textarea, really. nothing.
anyone can help me by sending the code exactly?
Thank you.
Portaleazzurro.

@timethief
wonderful! thanks! works!
you can put a background color? I think so because I saw the site mentioned above http://www.senzacredercitroppo.wordpress.com.
Can you help me again?
Sincerely. -
See here:
http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/09/19/background-color-to-text/Note that when you apply various style commands to the same section, you don’t need separate div tags for each command. For instance, you’ve written this (with two closing div tags after the content):
<div style="color:#0000ff;"> <div style="overflow:auto;height:150px;">It should be like that (with one closing tag after):
<div style="color:#0000ff;overflow:auto;height:150px;">
Same thing for any additional commands.Also note that you can write your “First Entry”, “Second Entry” etc. as an unordered list; that way the content will be similar to lists in other widgets (bulleted in the theme you’re using). For unordered lists (and more) see here:

@panaghiotisadam

I almost set fire to my house with smoke coming out of my brain,
but I made it to insert a background color to the widget.
Kindest regards. -

@portaleazzurro: You’re welcome. But now I can only see color in your text widget – no scrollbox. Try this please:
<div style="border:solid 1px #999;color:#8f6f8f;white-space:pre-wrap;overflow:auto;height:130px;width:163px;background-color:#e6e8fa;margin-left:10px;padding:4px;"> CONTENT HERE </div>(Change the arbitrary colors and height, but don’t change the other stuff.)
