Im trying to see if there is a way to add a poll in a widget or side bar. I want to constantly have a poll question up for people to answer.
Thanks,

This is easily accomplisged. I went to support documentation http://en.support.wordpress.com and typed in “polls widget”. Here is the result > http://en.support.wordpress.com/polls/#adding-a-poll-to-your-sidebar

I tried that. Copied the HTML code into the Text Widget but nothing shows.
Any suggestions?

Are your reffering to these instructions or not? http://en.support.wordpress.com/polls/#adding-a-poll-to-your-sidebar Those are the instructions we msut use here at wordpress.com.
Please provide us with the exact code you are using. To the left of the number 1 key on your keyboard you will find the backtick in lower case on the same key as the tilde ~. The backtick is not to be confused with the single quotation mark.
Please post that code in between backtick ( ` ) characters here and we shall examine it.

Hmmm … it seems like you may need Staff to take a backend look at your blog. Her’s the contact link. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

Dropped in fine to a Text Widget on my test site – What do you consider a workout?
As @TT says – good time for the Staff.

I’m sorry I couldn’t solve this for you immediately. :(
You could try typing that shortcode rather than copying and pasting as that sometimes that works.
Have you tried logging out, clearing your borwser cacahe and cookies and logging in again? http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/If neither one works then we have come full circle back to contacting Staff. :(
