Widget problem

    I’m an admin for 10things.wordpress.com but I can’t edit the widgets. It’s driving me nuts! They are locked up as if I were an editor or something. I’ve written about this before and haven’t heard anything on it.
    The other admin can do the edits, but I can’t ask her every time I want something changed.

    are you definitely listed on the blog as an administrator? If so, send feedback to staff, since this isn’t something we can fix for you (or so i believe).

    What browser, browser version and OS are you using please?

    Mmm… I’m using a few different browsers but all are on Mac OSX, the latest version. Tried Safari, FireFox and IE. Right now I’m at work and using FireFox 1.5.0.1.

    And yes, I am definitely an administrator.

    Well if you’re running the Alpha version of Leopard, gotta admit you’re shooting yourself in the foot. It’s not fully supported yet I would think anywhere on the net.

    I did not see the person say they are using Leopard.

    I too have had issues with the widgets. If I drag them around a bit I can get them to reset or otherwise ‘wake up’ so I can edit the particular widget.

    I have the current released version of OSX on a Mac. The issue appears with Safari. Firefox seems to have slightly different behavior so when editing widgets I use Firefox. Latest public release of Firefox. I just figured there were growing pains and ignored the issues.

    Note that I am not that sophisticated with blogs or HTML though I have a background with operating system development (long time ago).

    @johncorey:

    DrMike was just being a smarta**, because the OP stated she is using the “latest version” of MacOSX. The term “latest version” isn’t particularly helpful, because not everyone knows how to update their software (therefore it wouldn’t be the latest, but they think it is).

    If you search the forums for Safari, you will see there are issues with it interpreting certain scripts correctly (javascript maybe, don’t know). I use Firefox on my Mac all the time (mostly because i have never liked Safari very much), and i have very few problems with wordpress.

    @jandazza:

    Have you sent in feedback as i suggested?

    I doubt it’s a Safari issue since the poster has stated that they’re using different browsers.

    Gotta admit that I’m at a loss since we haven’t had this reported in the past. I’m wondering if there’s a security program of some sort running in teh background that would be interfering

    JudyB12 @ I sent in feedback and they helped out.

    In case other’s find this thread by way of searching out a similiar issue: drmike’s last response (not the smarta** one :-) ) was the right one. Turns out a security program was screwing everything up. A few people use this computer and one of them decided to be “helpful.”

    And again, for others, Safari doesn’t support all editing programs but Firefox seems to work just fine.

    Thanks all for your input!
