widget problems
-
my widgets aren’t working, they won’t drag around and so I can’t change anything right now.
-
I see you are using the Tarski theme and you that have be able to place a Links widget in your sidebar. Speaking from experience it’s important to move slowly when placing widgets and unless you click “Save Changes” your positioning will not “take”.
Hopefully these instructions will be helpful http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/12/24/what-is-a-widget/
If not maybe this may help with the set up and configuring of widgets. If neither address your problem and you feel it’s a backend issue then please send in a feedback to staff.

Um, widgets are dealt with on the wp-admin backend. Theme would have nothing to do with it.
Browser, browser version and OS please.

i’m having widget problems too–and i use mac OS with flock browser. going to try safari now just incase it is a browser problem…
however i also get “you don’t have permission to do that” when trying to add an extra category tonight :s

Are you the admin for your blog? That occasionsally happens. best bet would be to submit a feedback stating that you’re haing this issue and let a staff member take a look at the issue. It’s happened before.

I experience the same problem – it is impossible to drag the widgets, the widget list behaves as a standard table. I am the administrator and use Firefox 2.0.0.1 in WinXP (tried also the IE 6). As there are more users with problems with cathegories and widgets now, I assume this is an interim central bug…

i also have a widget control menu stuck to the top right of the screen.
works in opera, tho

I know IE7 has had reported issues. One of the reasons why I keep an older version of Netscape on my desktop as well.
I’ll send in a feedback and see what’s up. Knowing it’s friday night, I may not get a reply until Saturday morning though.

cheers
I am running Firefox 2.0.0.1 in WinXP. Other WordPress reads on my list have noticed imaging and widget problems. This must be a central issue. We don’t use netscape or IE on our new system, which is only a week old. we just had our box rebuilt.
Thnx

And that’s why I sent in a feedback with a pointer to this thread.
As to a week old system, chances are you probably do need to upgrade since, if you’re running SP2, you’re about 20 upgrades behind because what’s on a CD is never what’s current.

WOW, Mark, you are a genius…
Thank you, everything seems to be working all of a sudden, what a relief.
Thanks
