Widget removal

  • Unknown's avatar

    My blog is http://zkwriter.wordpress.com/wp-admin.

I’m trying to remove several widgets from my sidebar. I went to the Appearance tab, clicked on Widgets, the Add, the hit remov and saved changes. But nothing happened. Do I need to log out for a change to appear??

    zkashef,
I don’t see any widgets on your blog. Try doing a forced refresh. If that doesn’t clear your cache, cookies, restart browser.

Here is the URL of your blog:
    http://zkwriter.wordpress.com/
    2. How to make your name link to your blog:
Go into your dashboard -> users -> your profile -> then scroll down to ‘contact info’. In the spot where it says ‘website’ fill in the address of your blog and save the changes.
Now… when you comment here and on other blogs, your name will link to your blog. If you do this before you post your request for help, it will allow forum volunteers to be able to help you quicker since they won’t have to ask you for a link and wait until you come back to post one.

In fact one cannot see anything in this blog at the moment (apart from the introductory static front page). You need at least the pages widget and a posts page.

I try to delete them with how to: open and edit the widgets on the bottom of the form Click remome, then I succeeded.

I also had a problem with widgets when changing templates and finding my existing widgets ending up in all the wrong places.

For some reason, when I tried removing/adding them with Firefox, the widgets’ Edit link only opened a small slice of the edit box, not allowing any changes. The same with IE7. When I tried with Opera 9, everything worked just fine. This must have something to do either with my internet security suite or with Javascript working differently in different browsers.

Anyway, my point is this: if your widget modification doesn’t work with one browser, try another one.
