[Widget Requests] Several….

Widgest I would like to see at WP.com:
Librarything
Audio Widget from 1pixelout (mp3’s hosted elsewhere)
Amazon.com widgetsJust to name a few…

1) Why? You need to give reasons around here else we just think you’re the Paris Hilton of the forums. ;)
2) You do know that amazon.com links are against the TOS, right? ;)

My fault. Didn’t know that on the Amazon. I have noticed several people promote what they are reading, have read, or plan to read on their blogs. Library thing provides a widget, but not for wordpress.com. Thought I would throw it out there as a nice option for library collections. Unless someone else has ideas. I have not seen any on the blogs.
The MP3 thing has been posted beyond belief. I found 1pixelout to be a nice plugin before I moved to wordpress.com. It’s the only thing I was really using hosted that I can’t use here.

i think a lot of people would love the librarything widget too. but meanwhile, genesis, you could just add the link of your librarything site to your blogroll if you really want to put it at the sidebar.

@kamel
So do I. ;)Re: http://www.librarything.com/ library thing has come up before and like sulz says you can put the code into a text widget or blogroll and display it in your sidebar if it’s just a link. If it’s an image supported by a form or frame or written in javascript the programming will strip out the code to maintain wordpress.com security.

P.S. Thanks for the clarification sulz. :) -
you could put the link in a text widget but what i was saying is that you could put the link into your blogroll. but both methods would take your reader to your librarything website. :)

Got it. The widget they have shows book thumbnails, but the link is fine for now I guess. Thanks all for responding.

Why not just do that as a blog post? Anniversary posts tend to get more hits than normal, for whatever reason. No reason to piss that away with a widget!

I’d like to second the request for the LibraryThing widget. The reason is pretty straightforward — I like books, and I like sharing books, and that’s a real easy way to do it :)
Also, I’d like to see support for the widgets at MOG.com, a social networking site that offers software that keeps track of the last songs you played on your computer, who your top artists (by plays) are for the month, and other music related things. They also have blog widgets that don’t presently work on WP.

You can also syndicate your LibraryThing feeds with RSS. You can get a feed from your profile page. On my blog I have five books from http://www.librarything.com/rss/recent/alun
