Widget titles
-
I was just wondering if I had someone designing a special header for my blog and I wanted her to create titles in the same font for my widgets could I delete the widget titles and add text boxes above each widget with the new titles? Not sure that would work, but thought It was worth a try to ask.
Thanks….Mary Ann
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can place background images in the top of the individual widgets and set the text based titles to transparent, but if you narrow your browser window you will see that the widgets vary in width with browser window widths (set as a percentage) down to a certain width when the widgets move below the content for smaller screens. The images you use for the titles will have to be set so that they scale with the widgets so that means they will get smaller down to that point where the widgets move below the content.
Looking at your titles though, I think this should work.

Ok. Thanks for the answer. I have to say I am majorly confused, but I will wait to get my design and see if I want to change them and even if the person can do those titles for me and then I will get back to you if I decide to attempt that. Thanks again for your help….Mary Ann.

You are welcome and no problem. As long as the images are sized correctly, or at least close, we can pretty easily make them work I think. When you ask, make sure and get your designer to look at your site so the know how much room there is in the widget title area.

I have been checking out some of my favorite blogs online and ones using the adelle theme like I have and wanted to know if there is a way for me to see more of my background on my site and shrink the page to about 8 inches across. Mine is 9 1/4 right now when I view my site on my PC. I also wanted to see if I could narrow the soace between the top line of the navigation bar and the bottom line of the navigation bar. Thanks!

You can narrow the content area quite easily in Adelle with the following code. The 63.75em value you can adjust to get the max-width that looks good to you.
.site { max-width: 63.75em; }For the spacing above and below the menu items, add the following and adjust as desired (they were both 1em originally).
.navigation-main ul a { padding-top: 0.5em; padding-bottom: 0.5em; } -
Thank you so much!! It looks great. Anyway to get ride of the top and bottom background??

Top and bottom background? Are you talking about the patterned grey outside of the white area? If so, add the following.
body.custom-background { background: none; } -
No I am sorry I meant I wanted the background on the left and right sides of the page but no border on the top and bottom. Thanks I hope that explains it better,

Add a top and bottom margin setting of 0 to .site in your CSS like this:
.site { max-width: 55em; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; }And then add the following to get rid of all but a sliver of the grey. Can’t seem to get rid of that last little bit.
#wpstats { margin-bottom: 0; position: relative; top: -8px; } -
It looks exactly like I wanted! Thank you. When looking at my blog I have put in the color number for the navy blue as 233155 everywhere but when I look at the words the navy blue seems to be darker than the navy blue of my footer. Do you notice that or are my eyes playing tricks on me?? Thanks!

I think that is just because the text that is blue is much smaller in volume than the block in the footer. Both are set to 233155, and both are being applied.

Ok thanks again. I know I could not have gotten my blog to look the way it does now without all of your help and the help from others too from the Forum! You all are great at what you do!
