widget to show age of blog?
-
It’s suddenly taken my fancy to want to show the progressing age of my blogsite. Not MY age, of course! – lordy, no!!!
Has anyone ever come across a widget of any kind that could be adapted for such superficial porpoise?
:-)
Please? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
There is no specific widget I know of. Use a text widget. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/
-
There are some count up Widgets you can probably use –
Maybe Panos has found a count up Widget you can use
What if you just put a Text Widget in the sidebar that says “Blogging since June 2012” or some other this is when you started the blog thing and let people do their own counting?
-
I’d assumed it’d be a text widget, timethief: but what to put in it? – that is indeed the question.
A coding person I am not.
‘Morning (AEDST), yachtie. He doesn’t show one there. And as he’s not speaking to me at the moment – but will again one day, I fondly hope! – I must search elsewhere.
Sighh …
I thought you guys were all geniuses?! ;-) -
Not really all geniuses – just your fellow bloggers (except for the staff) – that are willing to share a bit of knowledge – however I have found over my life that sometimes a very small more knowledge about a subject than another person will qualify you as a “Genius”
Good luck with your search – maybe another helper here will drop by with a suggestion

My answer did not contemplate any coding at all. Dynamic coding that automatically updates is JavaScript and we cannot use it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
I thought you intended to type Day 10 or whatever into the text widget and manually update it every day. -
timethief! – do I sound/look like an old broad who’d take on so onerous a daily chore?
I’m not, I promise: I’m seeking a count up timer, and keep insisting (in Google) on “wordpress.com” and it keeps returning me dozens of wordpress.org plugins.
Sighh … -
Ah seen ’em. In fact, the yachtsman mentioned one of ’em and I found the other.
But they’re aree count downs, alas! -
Right. If you want to count up to some special event like a book launch for example then see these themes because they may do that:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/eventbrite-multi-event-theme/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/eventbrite-single-event-theme/ -
Seen those themes, too.
But I LERVE my Forever with xty widgets and umpteen customizations. I doubt I could be dragged away from it, kicking and screaming …
No: I want the impossible.
I want a count UP widget to add to those already there.
Who says I’m difficult …?
:-)
I do appreciate your input; I’m just too ornery to act on it. -
he’s not speaking to me at the moment
Huh? You say “please no more” and then you complain that he is not speaking to you?
-
[grin] I only wanted you to write no more on that, Panos!
About anything else – go right ahead! :-)
