Widget visibility

I’ve set up two widgets–a Search form to display on all pages which works–and an image widget to display on one selected page. The image widget does not display although originally it displayed randomly on two pages. Once I figured out how to set the visibility to a specific page it wouldn’t display anywhere. Thanks for your help.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

I see that you have the image widgets set to display on your Resources and Research page. However, that page is set to use your theme’s Full Width page template — in other words, the page will be displayed at full width without the sidebar, so no widgets will appear there.

You can edit that page to change the page template. In the “Page Attributes” module, under “Templates,” you can choose the Default template instead of the Full Width template to show the sidebar on that page.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

    Hi Rachel

    Thanks for your info—it worked!

However, my next problem is that it seems that I can only assign a widget to one page—and when I click on “Add” to have it be on another page, only the Front Page comes up.

So if I want to do an image widget on more than one page do I need to assign it differently than simply assigning it to a page. Would category be better?

Right now I’m trying to have the Image Widget for the right sidebar for “Soundtracks for Learning” on both the Resources and the My books and Music page but it seems I can only do one or the other.

    Thanks! Chris

Hi Chris! You can add a second page to the visibility settings by clicking on the “Add” button:

Let me know if you’re still having trouble with that.
