  I am trying to utilize the Category, Pages, or Custom widget to list or create a drop down box but exclude some of the pages within the categories, or exclude some of the pages. It won’t let me. Tried the “Show if”… option but it still will not update my selection. Maybe I’m misunderstanding the “show if” option.

  For example:
  I want the category widget with a drop down that includes All of the “categories” I created, except the ‘Herbs’ category… its not working for me.

  The visibility option, as far as I am aware, applies only to the widget itself, not to the contents of the widget. I don’t think you can exclude categories from the Categories widget.

  If you have a limited set of categories, you can use a text widget, but that will not allow a drop-down menu.

  You could create a custom menu widget and just not add that category. That’s an option.
