  Hey Jane,

  It’s a white box on the home page that says ‘Thomastown Music Tuition.’

  That’s a mouseover or hover box. You might need CSS customization to stop that behavior on a header image on this theme. I don’t think that changing the page template will have any effect on the behavior because the site header image will appear above a static front page regardless of the page template.

  I unchecked the box in discussion under settings that says enable comments. Should I try something else?

  I know that you’ve already resolved this issue, but I just wanted to explain why unchecking the box at Discussion Settings didn’t fix the issue. That setting applies to comments on future posts (and pages, I believe). Note that the setting says “Allow people to post comments on new articles.” Comments on previously published posts and pages have to be disabled individually, or a Quick Edit.
