  Be nice to be able to have a box to check off if you want to change pages into categories or categories to pages.

  Pages for static content sit outside the blog structure.
  Categories are keywords we assign only to posts.

  And what does that have to do with widgets?

  If you’re talking about what your sidebar displays, you can add the Pages widget or the Categories widget or both.

  If you’re talking about what your header menu displays, you can create a custom menu:
