It says–>’There are no widget areas on the page shown, however other pages in this theme do have them.’ I have the my life theme.

You can configure up to two sidebar widget areas by going to Customize → Widgets. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/
If that does not work and you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the site any and all widgets can be added or removed here
http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.php
*Just replace NAME_OF_BLOG in that URL and click.
Also, note that widgets have visibility settings that determine which pages they will be displayed on. See: Widget Visibility https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibility
