I inadvertently touched the follow button on my admin site. The ‘you are now following this blog button has appeared, and I am unable to put the simple ‘Follow’ button back on my side bar.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello @stitchingnews I just want to clarify to make sure I’m following correctly.
You accidentally clicked the follow button on your admin site, so now that button turns into a box saying “you are now following this blog”. Is that right? If so, that change only happens to people that follow your blog. For instance, here is what your site looks like to me: https://snag.gy/TjVIhd.jpg

Thank you for your reply. That is exactly what my site did look like, but since I touched the “Follow” button inadvertently, it doesn’t any more. It just says that “you are following this site. I cannot seem to edit this and get the follow button back’ I would like to “unsubscribe” myself from my own blog, so that the straight forward follow widget can be reinstated!

I see– you can unsubscribe to yourself by going to https://wordpress.com/following/manage
From there, click on the green “Following” button next to your blog, and it will unsubscribe you.
From there, your site should show the “Follow” button as normal. The good news is that the “you are now following this blog” button only shows to people subscribing to your blog, so it didn’t change for everybody.
Hope I was able to help!
