Widgets and Contact

    Hi! I’m a new user and trying to get my site up and running, but I am having some problems. I have the Sela theme and on my home page I have three widgets, I want to put a picture into one, but have no idea how. I’m trying everything but just can’t figure it out. Also, on the contact page, where you put your email address in, my email is displayed! I don’t know how to fix it, I’ve been trying everything but nothing is working. I would like to get it off ASAP. Thanks in advance!

    Hi there!

    Your site is looking great!

    To add an image to the Front Page Widgets (where you have Sweets, Savory, Tips), upload the image you want to use then grab the URL for it and use HTML to add the image to an existing widget.

    For example, to add your cupcake image above the text in your Sweets widget, go to Customize > Widgets > First Front Page Widget area, then open the Sweets text widget and paste the following HTML before your text: 

    <img src="https://theyoungchefblog.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/15-spring-cupcake-recipes.jpg">

    Then save and check it out!

    For the Contact page email address, do you mean where it’s showing in the contact form? That is only visible to you as a logged in WordPress.com user. Other users will see their own information filled in there (and readers who are not logged in will see it blank.)

    Great thanks for your help! One more question though, on my contact page, and about me, I want to add a picture, but is there a specific size I need because I don’t want there to be a lot of space where the picture won’t fit. Any suggestions?

    For an image on your pages, you can click into your page and click “add media” to insert one and then click and drag to re-size it in the editor until it looks right to you. I’d try using the image alignment options to wrap your text around it, so it fits into the page with your text nicely.
