  I really like the new setup of wordpress.com. Is there a way to acquire the widgets used here (mainly the new post feature or mostly the admin features) to use them on private wordpress blogs?

  On private WordPress.com blogs, yes. On wordpress.org blogs, it depends on the widgets and features.
