Widgets Disappear

Add topic to favorites
I had created a few more widgets last night that worked perfectly. Now not only are they gone, but no widgets appear on the main page (they appear on the other pages though).

What do I do!?

I see text widgets, recent posts, archives, recent comments, etc. all on the main page. Do a forced reload (Ctrl+F5 on a PC) to make sure your browser is displaying the most recent version of the page.

that hasn’t worked….do you see “poll” as the first widget? If yes, then it’s working….and something is wrong with my computer

something is wrong…what do you think happened? I still can’t view widgets on the main landing page

the first widget was a poll….it worked last night and doesn’t now

I looked at your blog using firefox 2.0.0.3 and I can see all your sidebar widgets except one with a poll. Where was the poll from? Was the code javascript? Was it a form or an iframe? WordPress software will strip javascript, forms and iframes because they compromise security. If you had linked your wordpress.com username to your wordpress blog rather than to a commercial url and I had read the post above more carefully I would have answered sooner. (lol)

how do I unlink it? It wasn’t in an iframe, just a link to the website.

At the top right hand corner of the is page you will see ” Welcome, shwibbs! View your profile. Click on the “View…” link and edit your profile inserting your blog’s url where it says website.

For reference using IE 6, your sidebar drops to teh bottom. You have a number of images within your posts that are wider than the width of the content area. You may want to consider using thumbnails.

I’m not seeing a Poll widget either. Did you make it out of a text widget?

Would you please post the code for the poll between backticks? The backtick key is to the left of the number 1 and above the tab key.

i made the poll out of a text widget….all this was done last night and it worked then and now it all screwed up. i had a text widget for the poll and that disappeared…i don’t get it….plus i just changed my profile and put my blog url….and nothing happened

ok i have to resize some of the images on the main page…..but that doesn’t answer me creating widgets (text)…adding images to text widgets…having a text widget with a single link to a poll on another website and them all disappearing

I just mentioned the images to help you out. :)

Whaty’s the count on the poll text widget? I’m not seeing it, even when I pull up the page source within my browser here. Text Widget #1 is the RSS feeds. Text Widget #2 is the Awards. Text Widget #3 is the Media bit. When you go Dashboard -> Presentation -> Sidebar Widgets, what’s the number for the text widget with the poll?

I do note an empt set of li tags right at the top of the sidebar which seems strange.
