Widgets disappeared on Home Page
-
My widgets are no longer showing on my Home Page as of a couple of days ago and I can’t seem to figure out how to fix this. Can anyone help?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The sidebar is displaying below your posts. Sidebars and widgets in them do not fall to the bottom and display below posts and/or posts do not appear in sidebars unless
(1) content has been imported into the blog
(2) the blogger has been copying and pasting content from elsewhere, without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text
(3) or the blogger has copied and pasted invalid HTML into a text widget or left an HTML tag open
Go here and enable this > Settings > Writing
Formatting
_ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically
“save changes”See here for sorting this out > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2012/05/19/sidebar-at-the-bottom-and-related-issues/

You have a bigger problem than that: your blog appears to be violating the Terms of Service. They say you are not allowed to use your blog to sell anything you, yourself do not make, and further blogs that use every post to direct someone to an external, commercial website will be suspended. I suggest you take care of those issues first, because those will kill your blog. If selling those oils is indeed the whole point of your blog, make an Export file with all the contents and find an external host, because it can’t stay here.

Thanks for the advice unfortunately it didn’t work. From what I can grasp it happened when I cut a pasted a recent post. Not sure which one and doesn’t sound like an easy fix especially since I’m not familiar with familiar HTML coding.

Raincoaster- whoa, I wasn’t aware of that! Thanks for the heads up. I am new to this and didn’t realize that. I’ve seen lots of other wordpress blogs doing this and didn’t realize we’re not supposed to… wow! Will have to see what I can do to keep it within Terms of Service. Just in case I’m unsuccessful how do I make an export file? Would hate to lose everything due to my mistake.

It’s easy to make an export file. Just go to the blog’s dashboard and on the Tools page you’ll see the option to create an Export file. Be sure and include all media in the file (it gives you an option not to if you want). Then you just get hosting elsewhere, install WordPress.org software which works almost the same way, Import the export file (on the tools page of the new blog), set the old blog to Private, and away you go.
There are more details in Support http://support.wordpress.com/

Raincoaster- thanks so much for the info. Don’t have time tomorrow but will have to see what I can do the next day from a different computer. I’m located out in a rural area and have limited internet service and almost over my monthly limit so will have to export using husbands office computer. Anyway, it’s very late and my eyes and brain need some sleep. Hopefully I’ll have time to get this resolved. Thanks again for the info. Want to keep things on the up and up!!!
