Widgets don´t see any of my posts

Hi,
when I add widget Catogories, it doesn´t show any category I created, there is just “no cateories” written. Also when I add Newest posts widget it won´t appear on the web at all. Did I miss something while creating the posts or categories?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When I add recent comments, it appears on the Web but with no content. If course there are also not any comments yet. Also why the widget categories had no categories inside when I created 3 of them?

Because you haven’t published any posts (as I already said). The Categories widget won’t display a category if there is no published post filed under that category. A category is a group of related posts: displaying a group of 0 posts doesn’t make sense.

I see. Thanks a lot. One last question if I may. .. When I set the homepage to display recent posts, is it possible to display only summaries and not whole posts? Thanks.

You have two options:
1. use a theme that automatically provides excerpts on the front page

2. insert “the more tag” into each post prior to publication.
