Widgets have all disappeared
-
I updated my site this morning with a new blog post but shortly afterwards noticed that all the widgets (which normally appear) down the right-hand side of the screen have vanished.
They are still showing on the dashboard screen to they have not been deleted. I’m guessing I’ve done something by accident or there’s gremlyns in the WordPress system.
If anyone could help, it’d be much appreciated.
Thanks.

I’ve got the same problem on http://www.birminghamagainstthecuts.wordpress.com – the sidebar does not display on the home page, or the page for the first blog post, using the Pilcrow theme.
It displays on all other pages and on the previous posts. I tried updating a post and that didn’t make them appear again.
This evening I wrote a draft post, and then moved one widget and added one widget (both images). At some point in doing this the sidebar stopped working.
I’ve also tried deleting the draft post, but that has not helped.Any ideas?

I am using Firefox 6.0.2 and I can see your sidebar on the front page of your blog has fallen below your posts. The reason your sidebar has fallen and is displaying below your posts is either due to copying and pasting or it can also be a result of importing text containing invalid HTML.Typically this is caused by an open HTML tag in one of your posts or in a text widget.
Go to Settings > Writing and select “ ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click “Save Changes.”
Now, starting with your latest post, open it in the editor, make one minor change such as adding a space and then deleting it, and then click “Update Post.” Check your blog and see if it is back to normal.
If it’s not, then look for an open HTML tag and close it. Check your blog again and see if it is back to normal. If it’s still “messed up” then open the next post and do the same thing post by post until it goes back to normal.
If you have been copying and pasting text from elsewhere without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor, please see here so you know how to do this correctly in the future. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text

Great, cheers. I’m not sure why I didn’t notice that when I posted the post this morning that was indeed missing div and span closing tags.. I never scrolled down enough to find the sidebar or I might have twigged what was going on :)
Thank you
