Widgets: how do I add a chart or the countdown of a deadline

    I want to add a chart to my blog or a widget that can display a target I have and where I am in reaching it.

    Hi there. I’m not aware of a WordPress.com widget that can do this, but there are some html widgets online that you can paste into a text widget. For example, many word count trackers for writers have html widgets that work on WordPress.com.

    I see your blog is about just that. The NaNoWriMo word count trackers work if you paste the html in a text widget, but those only work during NaNoWriMo and CampNaNoWriMo months.

    For the rest of the year, I like the meter provided by StoryToolz.com. You have to create an account (for free) with the site to use their meters, but you can customise the appearance, colours and fonts. It’s also compatible with WordPress.com, and if you click on the widget in the blog, it takes you to a graph showing day-by-day progress on your writing. I don’t have one active on my site at the moment to show you, but they have several example meters live on their site you can look at to get an idea how it works.

    Thank you for your help and the info you provided about StoryToolz. I managed to get a word tracker and used the html and added it to the widget like you said. It seems to be working.
